Meet Lia and Trevor Eyre — A family of adventurers inspiring meaningful, budget-friendly travel. With their 6-year-old daughter Lennon, an imaginative artist who loves painting and clay sculpting, and their two pups, Banana Pig and Mango Salsa, they’ve been exploring the U.S. in their Keystone Sprinter fifth wheel since 2019. Lia, a snowboarder, scuba diver, and endlessly curious content creator, and Trevor, a rock ‘n’ roll musician and freelance web developer, share tips on vegan-friendly eats, epic hikes, and kid- and pet-approved itineraries, all while embracing minimalism and a debt-free lifestyle.
We like to travel slowly when we can, staying at a location for (ideally) 2-3 weeks. This gives us time to explore the surrounding area and find good hikes, delicious vegan restaurants, a children’s museum, or a state park.
Nothing beats a nice, long hike in the mountains, overlooking the ocean, ending at the beach with some ocean paddleboarding, and sitting on the sand with a good beer from the brewery that’s right on the beach. We haven’t quite found that exact combination of these activities yet, but throw them all in one day and we’re happy campers.
We like to mix it up with RV parks and resorts, boondocking, state parks, and moochdocking (staying on a friend’s property). They all have pros and cons and we love all types of camping, so we tend to utilize all types based on what we’re feeling or where we are.
You don’t have to rush into RV life—but you also shouldn’t wait. Our advice would be: Test the waters first! We tested our fifth wheel while being stationary for a year before hitting the road. It was the best decision we could have made because it gave us time to adjust to minimalism, embrace a slower lifestyle, and practice towing.
We believe travel is about finding freedom in following your own path, connecting with others, and savoring life’s simple joys. For us, it’s less about ticking destinations off a list and more about creating meaningful, family-friendly adventures that prioritize wellness, sustainability and embracing who we truly are.

Moab, Utah
The Utah desert around Moab is from another world. Arches National Park and Canyonlands National Park are stunning and there’s so much to do in the area. You can go hiking, kayaking, paddle boarding, rock climbing, four-wheeling, base jumping—pretty much any outdoor adventure you can think of!
Durango, Colorado
The Million Dollar Highway from Durango to Ouray is one of the most beautiful roads we’ve driven and the mountain views are incredible. If you want a “hands-free” experience, there is a train that runs from Durango to Silverton that I recommend!
Bar Harbor, Maine
Acadia National Park has some of the best hiking and incredible views, especially in the fall. Beehive Trail and Precipice Trail are bucket-list hikes for us, both of which will have you climbing iron ladders up cliff faces where you’ll be rewarded with breathtaking views.
Highway 1, West Coast
We’re suckers for a scenic drive and this one tops them all. We drove from the northern tip of the Oregon coast down to the southern border of California, and let me tell you: the views on Highway 1 are absolutely breathtaking. Our favorite section is through Big Sur, where you can drive right along the ocean with the mountains on the other side.
